In total of over 6000 schoolchildren from 21 countries took part in the Olympiad. November 20, 2009 A meeting between Lyudmila Shvetsova, First Deputy Mayor in the Moscow City Government, and Jacques Seguela, vice-president of HAVAS-EURO RSCG, advisor to the President of France on public relations issues, was held at the Moscow City Government office at Tverskaya, 13, on November 18. November 19, 2009 From August to November this year there were held a series of meetings of the Boards of Trustees in the framework of the Moscow Mayor’s Scholarship Program currently underway in the Baltic States, as well as in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova and Transdniestria, which is steered by the Moscow City Government and is designed to offer more opportunities for local talented youths from among Russian fellow nationals towards receiving higher education in their native language.
September 22, 2009 A delegation of the Moscow City Government headed by Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow City Government S.L.Baidakov visited the South Ossetian capital on September 16-18 to participate in organizing the Friendly International Karate Tournament. August 24, 2009 “South Ossetia – Peace for a Beautiful World” photo exhibition signalizing the first anniversary of the Republic’s independence was opened at the Gogol Boulevard. The exhibition was unveiled by President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity and representatives of government agencies, public organizations, prominent cultural figures and artists. April 14, 2009 On April 9 – 11, 2009 the Moscow City Task Force made a trip to the capital of South Ossetia, the city of Tskhinval, to discuss the issues of bilateral cooperation and organizational and technical activities to be implemented in preparation for the International Karate Tournament to be held in mid-September. January 29, 2009 Moscow developers will help South Ossetia to train qualified specialists in the shortest possible time. December 11, 2008 On December 5 a civic event “Russian Business in Support of South Ossetia” - Concert “Tskhinval, We Are with You!” was held at the Gorky Moscow Academic Art Theatre (MKhAT).
