The international union of public associations ‘International Council of Russian Compatriots’ (ICRC) was founded at the end of 2002. The Council bears its origin to the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin who set forth the idea of consolidation among foreign organizations of countrymen. Official website: http://www.msrs.ru/ ICRC main aims: • consolidation of Russian diaspora, coordination of activities of public associations and organizations of compatriots in order to maintain ethnic identity, national and religious originality, spiritual and cultural heritage of indigenous nations of Russia; • assistance to the forming of united Russian cultural, information and educational area in order to consolidate community of Russian diaspora, to strengthen its international positions; • creation of necessary conditions for expansion of the cultural, intellectual and business relations of Russian compatriots with their historical native land; • assistance to the development of the all-round relations and contacts of compatriots with Russian public associations and organizations; • attraction to the historical native land of intellectual, economic and financial resources of the Russian compatriots who are living abroad; • representation of legitimate interests, assistance to protection and realization of civil, political, economic, social, cultural, religious rights and liberties of the compatriots abroad; • spreading of the Russian language and culture abroad; • bringing compatriots to love their native land, to respect its history and traditions, national customs and culture of the other nations; • assistance to restoration of ties of relationship, getting into contact between compatriots living in different countries; • forming in the public opinion of foreign countries of the favorable attitude to the ICRC activities, its aims and purposes according to its Charter. | Moscow External Economic RelationsMoscow International Relations |
