The Yuri Dolgorukiy Moscow Foundation for International CooperationThe Yuri Dolgorukiy Moscow Foundation for International Cooperation (MFIC) was established by Moscow City Government in March, 1999 to provide economic, social and legal aid in the cause of observance of human rights, equality and protection of legitimate interests of Russian-speaking population living in CIS and Baltic countries, as well as to facilitate compatriot support programmes implemented by the city of Moscow.
MFIC’s Board of Trustees is chaired by the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov.

In its charity activities MFIC focuses on the following areas:
1. Support of public associations of the Russian diaspora:
- providing material assistance to public organizations in the implementation of cultural, educational, information and publishing projects;
- rendering assistance, including financial assistance, to interfaith peace support activities and providing aid to the parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church.
2. Support of the Russian language, education and culture:
- funding of conferences, symposia, roundtable discussions, international forums;
- replenishment of Russian compatriot associations’ library stocks with published works by Russian authors;
- assistance in the equipping of Slavonic universities, Russian language centres;
- conducting a competition for Russian language teachers from foreign countries and hosting the winners in Moscow;
- funding of theatre exchanges including the production of plays by Russian playwrights;
- organizing performances by Moscow artists to meet the requests of Russian compatriot organizations;
- supporting the museums involved in the promotion of the Russian culture;
- installation of commemorative plaques to outstanding Russian compatriots and proper maintenance of the Russian Glory monuments and memorial parks;
- hosting Russian compatriots’ children in Moscow, introducing them to the city’s cultural and spiritual assets;
- funding of compatriot children’s performance groups’ participation in Moscow-held competitions and festivals.
3. Support of the most vulnerable strata of Russian compatriots:
- providing material aid to World War II veterans and participants of the battle for Moscow.
